They’ll hold the score down because my  Tar Heel niece is here for the game. Somebody tell Frank.

I still have the image of you being driven there in the back of a pickup truck, laid out flat on your back.

[beep! beep!] “Coming through! I’ve got Joe Kennedy here! Make a hole, people!”

The Hokies are in trouble.

Joe // Sep 29, 2007 at 6:15 pm

Yes, Ron, they are, on both sides of the ball, as the pundits say. Exciting game for the all wrong reasons.

Looks like dem’ Hokies had their hands full…

Yeah, poor Tyrod was on the run.His passing stats cannot have been good. And the defense tackled about as well as Vienna Boys Choir. Then again, UNC played well, especially that running back. no. 6. ACC play will be interesting, for sure.
On another note, Penn State’s loss makes my visit to State College next weekend a little less promising. They’ll play Iowa. Still, big time football is big time football.

Big time football, Joe, is usually played on Sunday.

Go Giants!

Joe // Sep 29, 2007 at 10:48 pm

Would those be the Giants whose coach is about to get fired? Thought so.
They need to hire Tiki.

Melinda // Sep 30, 2007 at 1:18 pm

Andrew you are right on…I have not decided on my favorite team as yet, do like the Giants, love the Colts and of course the Packers. On sundays is really the only day I do surf back and forth on the games that are playing. My really favorite team is Hidden Valley Titans!!Two grandsons play and one grandson got to play quarter back in the last quarter because the starting quarter back was hurt. Seeing them on the new field was great, you could just see the players better.
Hope all are having a “restful” day.
Joe, yes Tiki would do a great job for the Giants.

Melinda,

I think you mistyped something in your last contribution. Among the teams you listed were the Colts, presumably the Indianapolis Colts. My heart immediately came to a halt, and my spiritual and life guide, John Unitas, appeared before me saying, “Let it go, Joe, let it go. Someday you’ll understand.”

The only Colts in the NFL were the Baltimore Colts. Now that we’ve straightened that out, I look forward to more of your posts.

I’m am letting it go. I am letting it go. I am letting it go…

Are you referring to the, “let’s sneak out of town in the middle of the night”, Baltimore Colts?

Joe // Sep 30, 2007 at 2:10 pm

No, I mean the Colts who won world championships and lived near the stadium like we did and got their haircuts at Phil Manna’s barber shop like we did and hung out in neighborhood bars and, in the case of John Unitas, signed 1,000 small footballs for kids who showed up every Easter or Christmas at a restaurant owned by one of his friends.
No charge, no publicity, just did it because he was a good guy.
Unfortunately, they got sold to a bad character. They are good, though. And Peyton Manning and Johnny U were friends. So I’m let….ting….it….go…
Never did adopt the Ravens. Billick. Ugh. I liked Joe Gibbs’ old Redskins and can’t figure out what the problem with them is now.

I hear you…..I was living near Towson, MD during “the great escape”. The media went crazy! I grew up rooting for the Redskins and the Senators, as my family had more ties to DC, even tho I lived in the “sticks” which later became Columbia, MD. (which is half way between Baltimore and DC, for those of you who don’t know MD)
