It’s hard to know how many will show. The more the merrier! Tell your “sub” to get gussied up and put his game face on, we will be expecting him, and will do everything to make him feel comfortable and welcomed!

Is it still humid or what? I got caught up on house work, finally took the hummingbird feeders down & cleaned them.. Now it is Pouring outside. It felt good as I stood in it but a little chilly once I was soaked! I better take a real shower now.. hey, it’s my day of the week to wash my hair too.

If we have the BeerFest…. it (the rain) will come.

Olde Fred, who agreed to stand in for me tonight if my hair doesn’t dry in time, reports that his neighborhood is swamped (he lives in a culvert that empties into the Roanoke River).
That means it’s iffy whether either of us will show up.
Olde Ned is portraying me in Vinton tonight at some civic club meeting. He is unreachable by phone because, as I said, he’s in Vinton. So I know he won’t be there.
Gosh, I hope there’s room for all (three) of you faithful readers. I’m doing my best to get this hair dryer to work.

Is your friend at that mission place on Walnut Ave in Vinton? Do you know Tony Nunley? And I know Sammy O has helped a great deal with this also. They give out food to needy families,pet food too, toys for the kids on Wed. nights. A friend stopped by not long ago and asked if I wanted to help volunteer there & just sit and talk with people. I almost did & actually forgot about it! I couldn’t do it at the time but I hear it’s wonderful (if this is the same place your friend is?).

It was nice meeting all of you that came Finally! After you all left, I stayed abit and a woman came in by herself.. I started talking to her and she liked the band also.. well.. I asked her ‘can you flatfoot?’ She said a little, so I told her lets go! Off my sandals went once I told her “let’s go!” We got up on the stage and did our thing.. It was alot of fun & I wish some of you could have stayed longer to join in!

What a trip, that was fun! The band winded down & was quitting for the night but one of the guys working there, made sure I knew of the other bands. I think good jazz is tomorrow night.
I really liked the Coda.. I didn’t know what to expect. I wish more had shown up too.((ANDREW))..your tip jar should belong to Joe now..LOL.
Joe, I’m glad you attended along with MM, Mary & Annette & her friends. I couldn’t hear all the conversations taking place, but I really enjoyed all the company. Maybe the rain kept alot of people away, who knows? People… you will not melt in the rain!

And a good time was had by all!

I highly recommend the coffee shop, Coda, to everyone. My coffee was made to perfection, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the music was awesome, and they had some sinfully indulgent desserts in the display case! A perfect place to gather and share great conversation with friends.

The rain is nice and since Im not working, I think I’ll go take a nap. Wonder where Joe’s camera was .. still in the box?
I never mentioned before about my camera… I did try to take it apart, what’d I have to lose? Have you ever seen the inside of one of those things? When I finally got the last screw our and opened it - you don’t want to know the word that came out of my mouth. I’ve got to go to Ritz or somewhere!! Joe, hoe many pictures have you taken?

Where is everyone or is Joe out of town? Had a little meeting today & was actually told to get away, etc.. even to WV. Guess it really IS close to Halloween ~~ scary.
